MECHANICAL WAVE
Mechanical wave is a wave propagation requires a medium
in which the
energies for the propagation of a wave.
The voice is one example
of a mechanical wave that propagates through a change in air pressure in the chamber (tight-renggangnya air molecules). Without air, sound
can not be propagated. Waves can be seen on
the beach, which is a mechanical wave requires
water as a medium.
Another example of such a wave on a string
or a (Slinky)
The
following terms contained in the wave
mechanics:
a.
Wave period (T) is the time
required by the wave to travel one full
wavelength.
b.
Wavelength (λ) is the distance traveled in one period (the
distance between A and C).
c.
Wave frequency is the number of waves that occur per
unit time.
d.
Rapid propagation of the wave (v) is the distance that the wave per unit time.
Examples of wave mechanics:
- The wave occurred on a string if one end digerak moving.
- The wave that occurs on the surface of the water if given the harassment to her (eg by dropping rocks on the surface of a quiet pond water)
- The wave that occurs on the surface of the water if given the harassment to her (eg by dropping rocks on the surface of a quiet pond water)
v = λ.f
Written by the equation:
f = frequency (Hz)
λ = wavelength (m)
v = rapid propagation of the wave (m / s)
Written by the equation:
f = frequency (Hz)
λ = wavelength (m)
v = rapid propagation of the wave (m / s)
